Bio

Isaiah Grant is a Ph.D. candidate in the Molecular and Cell Biology program at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a concentration in Biology from the University of California, Riverside. During his undergraduate studies, he researched the mechanism of transcription-translation coupling in E. coli and compared the differences in transcription-translation coupling proteins between gram negative and gram positive bacteria. Upon graduation, he would stay in the lab as a research technician before starting graduate school. Isaiah is currently a member of the Ohainle lab, investigating the interactions between HIV and host cells. His work focuses on the interplay between antiviral proteins and the HIV capsid.
